DLA Piper advised SNF Floerger, the world’s leading producer of flocculants for water treatment, oil and gas applications (including enhanced oil recovery), and mineral extraction, on the refinancing by its holding company SPCM SA. This half a billion US$ transaction was successfully completed, notwithstanding volatile market conditions.

Environmental Enforcement Veteran Joins Pillsbury in Washington, D.C.

Pillsbury today announced that Matthew Morrison has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Environment, Land Use & Natural Resources practice. He has almost 25 years of experience in this area, most recently serving as Deputy Director of the Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics, and Training at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as the prior Acting Director and Associate Director of the Air Enforcement Division of EPA’s Office of Civil Enforcement. Prior to that, Morrison served for over a dozen years as a trial and then supervising attorney in the environmental enforcement office at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Cravath – Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company’s $3 Billion Debt Offering

Cravath represented the initial purchasers, led by BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan Securities, Mizuho Securities and Rabo Securities USA Inc., in connection with the US$3 billion 144A/Reg. S debt offering of Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, the world’s largest manufacturer and marketer of gum and a leader in the non‑chocolate confections category. The proceeds from the offering were used to repay borrowings from Mars, Incorporated, fees and expenses related to other refinancing transactions and general corporate purposes. The transaction closed on October 21, 2013.
