Global law firm White & Case LLP acted as the underwriters’ counsel in the initial public offering of ALROSA, the world’s largest diamond company with listing on the Moscow Stock Exchange. The deal is Russia’s largest privatisation transaction since 2006, the largest public offering of local shares in Russia and one of the largest resource sector offerings in recent years. The offering represented a transaction value of RUB41.3 billion roubles (US$1.3 billion).

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Haitong International Finance Holdings Limited, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. (Haitong Securities), on its issue of US$900 million 3.95% Reg S credit-enhanced bonds due 2018. This is the first time that Haitong Securities has tapped the international US dollar market and is the second-largest credit-enhanced offering to date. The notes included credit enhancement from Bank of China Singapore in addition to a keepwell deed from Haitong Securities.

Crown Castle expects to use the net proceeds from these offerings to finance a portion of the consideration to be paid to AT&T Inc. and its affiliates in connection with the recently announced tower transaction between Crown Castle and AT&T. The offerings closed on October 28, 2013. Crown Castle owns, operates and leases towers and other infrastructure for wireless communications.
