Hogan Lovells today announced the expansion of its Los Angeles Office with the addition of a prominent, long-standing corporate transactional team. Veteran Los Angeles corporate and mergers and acquisitions partner Barry Dastin, prominent media and entertainment partner Sheri Jeffrey, and corporate and M&A partner Russ Cashdan will join Hogan Lovells’ Los Angeles office. The three partners have worked together as a team for more than fifteen years.

Paul Hastings Advises Underwriters on Travellers’ US$405 Million Philippine IPO

Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that it advised the international underwriters on the US$405 million initial public offering by Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. (“Travellers”) and the listing of its shares on the Philippine Stock Exchange. Travellers, a joint venture between Genting Hong Kong Limited and Philippine conglomerate Alliance Global Group, Inc., is the developer and operator of Resorts World Manila, the first integrated tourism resort in the Philippines. The IPO proceeds will be used to expand Resorts World Manila.

Paul Hastings Secures Antitrust Settlement on Behalf of American Airlines

Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that it successfully advised Fort Worth, Texas-based AMR Corporation’s American Airlines Inc. in the settlement that resolved the antitrust action brought by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the States of Arizona, Florida, Michigan and Tennessee, the Commonwealths of Pennsylvania and Virginia, and the District of Columbia challenging the merger of AMR and US Airways Inc. The settlement allows American Airlines and US Airways to proceed with their planned $17 billion merger, which will create the world’s largest carrier by passenger volume.

Willkie Represents Institutional Investors in Private Placement of $700 Million of Senior Secured Notes by Affiliates of Rolls-Royce plc

On October 30, 2013, a U.K. and a U.S. affiliate of Rolls-Royce plc jointly issued $700 million of their senior secured notes in five series (comprised of fixed and floating rate notes) to a group of 21 institutional investors, including New York Life, MetLife, TIAA-CREF and Prudential, among others. Willkie represented the investors in connection with the private placement.
