Michael Adams is a partner in the Litigation and Intellectual Property groups at Jackson Walker. For more than 25 years, Mr. Adams has practiced patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law, with an emphasis on the litigation, procurement, and licensing of intellectual property rights. His practice has focused on those intellectual property issues arising in the following industries: computer, semiconductor, electronics, software, e-commerce and internet. Mr. Adams has participated in patent infringement trials before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern (Marshall) and Western (Austin) Districts of Texas and the Eastern District of Virginia, and appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Paul Hastings Advises Jynwel Capital in the $660 M Acquisition of the Park Lane Hotel

Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm advised Jynwel Capital, a Hong Kong-based investment firm, in its formation of a  joint venture with a consortium led by The Witkoff Group (other members in the Witkoff-led consortium include New Valley LLC, Highgate Holdings, and Macklowe Properties). The joint venture acquired the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust for $660 million. The acquisition was financed by Wells Fargo and Criterion Real Estate Capital. Paul Hastings represented the Jynwel/Witkoff venture in the financing transaction.

Akin Gump Advises LUKOIL Neftohim Burgas on €420 Million SACE Financing in Bulgaria

International law firm Akin Gump has advised LUKOIL Neftohim Burgas, a Bulgarian subsidiary of OAO LUKOIL (Russia), in a €420 million financing to upgrade its oil refinery in Burgas, Bulgaria, including the construction of a heavy-residue hydrocracking complex. This project is one of the largest financings to a private company operating in the fuel and energy sector in Bulgaria.
