Smith, Gambrell & Russell Expands Litigation Practice in Jacksonville Office

International law firm Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) announced today that Alan S. Wachs, partner, and Kyle C. Jacobs, associate, have joined the firm’s litigation practice in its Jacksonville, Fla., office.

“We welcome Alan and Kyle to the firm,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s managing partner. “Their background and experience working with clients in various industries throughout Florida, the Southeast and beyond deepens our national litigation practice.”

Wachs focuses on commercial litigation with emphasis in complex contract disputes, trade secret disputes, intellectual property litigation, covenant not to compete litigation, partnership and shareholder disputes, and commercial products liability litigation. Additionally, he practices in insurance coverage litigation, bad faith litigation, re-insurance litigation, and agent/broker litigation, including professional negligence claims. Wachs currently serves as vice chair of the litigation committee of the Jacksonville Bar Association and vice chairman of the board of Jax Metro Credit Union. He received his juris doctor from Florida State University College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from University of North Florida.

Jacobs focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage litigation, intellectual property litigation, and construction litigation. He received both his juris doctor and bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. While in law school, he received the Book Award in Water Law, and served as a teaching assistant for legal research and writing and appellate advocacy.
