Baker Botts Posts Strong Profit Results for 2007

The Houston-based law firm Baker Botts has reported an increase in profits by 19 percent for 2007. Profits per equity partner (PEP) surged to 18.6 percent at a new record of $1.3 million, an increase from last year’s $1.09 million. Revenues were also up, with turnovers at just under 15 percent.

Locke Liddell Hike Pay for All Associates

Houston- and Dallas-based firm Locke Liddell & Sapp has announced that all levels of attorneys will see a pay increase beinning retroactively on August 1st. Associates will start out at $160,000 and move to $170,000 their second year. Thirds years will earn $172, 500; fourth-years $175,000; fifth years $180,000; sixth years $185,000; seventh-years $190,000; and eighth-years $195,000.
