A distinguished environmental and energy attorney, Ms. Burke joins Eversheds Sutherland from King & Spalding where she was a partner and led the Houston Environmental Health and Safety Practice as well as their global energy transition initiative. Ms. Burke previously held several senior government positions, including at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of the Interior (DOI). As a sought-after thought leader and strategic advisor she frequently speaks and writes about environmental enforcement and crisis response, energy regulations, and complex environmental corporate matters.

Kris is the fifth private equity partner to join Willkie this year, with others joining in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Agarwal served as Principal and General Counsel of Platinum Equity Advisors, where he advised senior management on the overall strategy of the organization, and oversaw corporate governance matters, material litigation and regulatory matters for more than 35 portfolio companies.

Norton Rose Fulbright Expands Oil and Gas and LNG Team With Return of Two Energy Lawyers

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that veteran oil and gas lawyer Craig Vogelsang has returned to the firm as a partner and leader of the oil and gas practice and Alex Niebruegge has returned as a senior counsel. Both join the firm’s oil and gas and LNG team in Houston. Vogelsang rejoins the firm from Baker Botts while Niebruegge was formerly with Winston & Strawn.

O’Melveny Continues March into Texas, Opening Houston Office and Adding Three Top Dealmakers

Continuing its expansion in Texas, O’Melveny announced today that it will open an office in Houston—its third new office in the state in just ten months. The office will be anchored by three transactional partners—Angela Olivarez, Steven V. Torello, and Ryan Cicero—who join the firm from Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s Houston office, and partner Monica Hwang, who joined O’Melveny in November. With these additions, O’Melveny will have a total of 47 lawyers in its Dallas, Austin, and Houston offices, including 20 partners. Firmwide, some 33 lateral partners have joined O’Melveny since the beginning of 2021.
