King & Spalding announced today that Joel Goldberg has joined the firm as a partner in its Energy industry team and Corporate practice group. He is based in the Houston office. Goldberg arrives at the firm from Porter Hedges LLP.
Goldberg’s practice focuses on the full lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects, including development, financing and acquisitions across conventional and renewable assets. His experience includes providing clients with legal support for renewable and conventional electricity projects, LNG, renewable natural gas, battery storage and carbon capture facilities, as well as with all types of commercial transactions including, EPC contracts, offtake agreements, joint venture agreements, power purchase agreements, energy commodity-related transactions and project finance. Prior to his private practice experience, Goldberg served as General Counsel and Commercial Director of Energy Developments, Inc.

Goldberg joins King & Spalding from Porter Hedges, where he served as Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Property and Finance Practice Group. He received his B.A. from the University of Texas and his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
