Litigator Paula Hinton Joins Winston & Strawn Houston

Winston & Strawn LLP has announced Paula W. Hinton will join the firm’s Houston office as a partner in the litigation practice. Ms. Hinton was formerly a partner at Vinson & Elkins, where her practice focused on representing businesses in a broad array of complex civil litigation. The arrival of Ms. Hinton broadens the office’s litigation capabilities and underscores Winston & Strawn’s commitment to developing a full-service platform in Houston.

Ms. Hinton has represented businesses in courtrooms across the country, before administrative agencies, and in arbitration forums to resolve a wide variety of disputes, including those involving allegations of breach of contract, business torts, consumer class actions, product liability, fraud, trademark and trade-secret issues, as well as energy, telecommunications and technical litigation. Ms. Hinton is a member of the American Law Institute and has been named to Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers; she is a past recipient of Texas Executive Women’s Woman on the Move Award and has previously been named as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Houston.

Ms. Hinton’s professional activities include serving in ABA leadership as Co-Chair of the Woman Advocate Committee of the ABA Litigation Section, on the Executive Council for the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas. In addition, Ms. Hinton is on the Executive Committee of the University of Alabama Law School Foundation Board, and is a member of the Houston Greater Partnerships’ Executive Women’s Partnership. She holds a B.A. and M.P.A. from the University of Alabama, and J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. She also was an International Rotary Fellow at the University of Seville, Spain, where she studied international comparative law.
