Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Continues Global Real Estate Expansion with New Partner in Hong Kong

International law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) has welcomed new Real Estate Partner Wayne Ma to the firm’s Hong Kong office. Wayne’s arrival marks the 10th lateral hire to join the practice in the past year, as BCLP continues to strengthen its market-leading position in the international commercial real estate arena. Joining from DLA Piper, Wayne has more than 14 years’ experience in Asia on a wide variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of various types of real property, joint ventures, limited recourse and secured financings, private equity and institutional investments, and funds formation.

Wayne represents multinational and Asia-based investment banks, financial institutions and private equity funds in both inbound and outbound transactions across Asia, Europe and the United States. His funds experience includes advising fund sponsors in the formation of real estate private equity funds and advising managers in their investment and operational matters.

This arrival marks another strategic hire for BCLP and the Real Estate Team in the region, which has been bolstered recently by London Partner Ciaran Londra moving to the firm’s Hong Kong office at the end of 2020. BCLP continues to strengthen its wider real estate offering with multiple key hires around the globe, most recently with Partners Stephen Kelly and Sarah Mahood joining its Dubai office.

The firm was also recently recognized as Hong Kong Real Estate Law Firm of the year by Asian Legal Business for the second time in three years.

Global Head of Real Estate Chris de Pury said of the hire: “We are delighted to welcome Wayne to our Hong Kong office. An extremely talented lawyer, Wayne is going to help us to continue to unlock some fantastic opportunities for our Real Estate Practice in the region. We look forward to continuing to build on our already excellent reputation in the region.”
