With more than ten years’ legal experience in both London and Hong Kong, including at Allen & Overy and Linklaters, David will work alongside Anthony Oakes, partner and head of Ogier’s Banking and Finance Team in Hong Kong, and adds considerable strength and experience to the team as it continues to grow both in Asia and globally. He has continued this focus since moving offshore. At his previous firm, among other matters, he advised the senior and mezzanine arrangers on the Cayman law elements of the facilities for acquisition of Wharf T&T by MBK Partners and TPG, acted as Cayman legal counsel for the arrangers on the financing of the take private of Belle International by Hillhouse and CDH by way of a Cayman scheme of arrangement and acted as Cayman legal counsel to the arrangers in relation to the financing of the take private of Bloomage BioTechnology by way of a Cayman scheme of arrangement. David has acted as legal counsel on several fund finance transactions both as an onshore and as an offshore lawyer.

Hong Kong practice partner Nicholas Plowman said: “David is regarded by the market as a very strong technical lawyer – we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”

David said: “Ogier is a market leading firm with a fantastic reputation and I am delighted to join at this exciting time of growth for the firm. I’m looking forward to working with the other members of our strong banking and finance practice and continuing to focus on delivering high quality legal advice and exceptional client service.”
