Thanks to agressive lateral hiring, Linklater’s banking practice has grown from 100 associates and 16 partners at the beginning of the decade to 430 lawyers and 26 partners. The firm gained several attorneys from Wilde Sapte, as well as from Clifford Chance and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Though lateral hiring is an unusual strategy for growth for firms such as Linklater, it bode well for the firm, which has become one of the highest profile firms in the banking sector.
