Perkins Coie’s Chicago Office Adds Three More IP Attorneys

Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Michael R. Osterhoff, Adam L. Marchuk and Heather A. Boice have joined the firm’s patent litigation practice in Chicago. All three attorneys were most recently partners at K&L Gates LLP. The arrival of Osterhoff, Marchuk and Boice follows closely upon the recent addition of Dave Fournier to the firm’s Chicago office.

“We’re very excited about Mike, Adam, and Heather joining us here in Chicago. Their practices fit perfectly with our local patent litigation group anchored by Mike Warnecke and their backgrounds are ideal complements to our national platform,” said Chris Wilson, Office Managing Partner of Perkins Coie’s Chicago office. “Mike and Adam provide us greater depth in patent litigation in medical devices, computer technology, healthcare and financial services, and Heather’s extensive experience with electrical and computer technology patent litigation add to our strength in these areas.”

Osterhoff focuses his practice in litigating intellectual property cases involving patents, trademarks, false advertising, unfair competition and industrial espionage. He also counsels clients on the management of IP portfolios, as well as matters related to patent preparation and prosecution. He received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, and his B.S. in Geology from the University of Illinois.

Marchuk concentrates his litigation practice on complex business disputes and intellectual property matters involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, false advertising, commercial disparagement and breach of contract. His matters have focused on technology-related areas, including aerospace and non-destructive testing systems, computer systems and software, food science, medical device and diagnostic systems, and pharmaceuticals. He received his J.D. from Tulane Law School, where he served as managing editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, and his B.A. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Boice concentrates her practice on patent litigation matters dealing with patents, trademarks, copyright and trade dress. She has represented clients at the International Trade Commission, in federal court and in arbitrations. Boice received her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, and her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Before law school, Heather worked for a major technology company.
