HWL Ebsworth has today announced that a significant Building & Construction and Property team has joined the firm’s Sydney office from Herbert Geer.
Paul Deschamps and Alex Robinson have joined the firm as partners in the Building & Construction Group and Andrew Buchanan has joined the firm as a partner in the Property Group. Paul, Alex and Andrew have been accompanied by a team of 14.
Paul Deschamps has specialised in construction work for 17 years and has acted for a broad spectrum of clients including principals, contractors, subcontractors, government departments, statutory corporations, consultants and suppliers.
Paul has expertise in all facets of project delivery, including advising in respect of procurement models, preparation of project and tender documentation, advice during project delivery and dispute resolution.
Alex Robinson has more than 10 years of experience advising various Australian and international clients in relation to all aspects of building and construction law and commercial litigation, having worked in Australia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Alex’s areas of expertise include litigation and dispute avoidance in the construction, engineering and infrastructure sectors, together with all aspects of commercial litigation. Alex also drafts and reviews all forms of construction, procurement and related contracts.
Paul and Alex have acted on a number of high profile projects including Sydney and London Olympic sporting facilities, airport infrastructure, desalination and other water treatment plants, high rise commercial and residential projects, mining, hydro-electric, chemical, marinas, ship building, maritime transport, roads and bridges.
Andrew Buchanan specialises in complex property transactions, developments, acquisitions and disposals and industrial, commercial and retail leasing.
Andrew’s experience extends to major projects, planning and environmental law and property related disputes.
Andrew has more than 20 years experience working in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom acting for A – REITs, ASX top 50 listed corporates, multinational corporates and Federal and State Government owned entities.
