International law firm Simmons & Simmons has appointed Rezah Stegeman as a Finance partner in Amsterdam. He joins the firm on 01 May.
Rezah, who joins the firm from Clifford Chance in Amsterdam, specialises in financial services related work and derivatives. He has particular expertise in respect of banking supervision, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) and clearing documentation. Rezah was previously a supervisor at the Dutch Central Bank, De Nederlandsche Bank NV.
Commenting on the appointment, Netherlands Country Head at Simmons & Simmons, Gerhard Gispen, said: ‘‘Rezah makes an excellent addition to our team in the Netherlands. We are growing our European practices and Rezah brings with him broad expertise and a wealth of experience.’’
Head of the Financial Institutions sector at Simmons & Simmons, Jonathan Hammond, added: “We are significantly expanding our international Finance team and Rezah’s expertise will build on our already strong capabilities in this area. He is a leading lawyer in the Netherlands in the derivatives area.’’
Earlier this month, Simmons & Simmons in Amsterdam also announced the arrival of a newly appointed Intellectual Property partner.
