Herbert Smith Freehills Advises FleetCor on Its Acquisition of Custom Fleet’s Card Business

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised FleetCor Technologies, Inc., a global provider of fuel cards and workforce payment programs to businesses, on its acquisition of Custom Fleet’s Fleet card business from GE Capital Australia’s Custom Fleet leasing business. The transaction completed on Tuesday 26 March.

The Fleet Card is a multi-branded fuel card product with acceptance in over 6,000 fuel outlets and over 7,000 automotive service and repair centres across Australia.

FleetCor and GE Capital will also enter into a long term agreement for FleetCor to provide fuel card processing and network services to support Custom Fleet’s customer portfolio.

Herbert Smith Freehills partner Peter Dunne led the acquisition team, supported by Jessica Selby, John Blake and James Schoeffer.

‘It was a pleasure to assist FleetCor with its entry acquisition into the Australian market,’ said Dunne. ‘We look forward to continuing to work with FleetCor in the future as its presence in the region grows.’

Tiffany Barton of Ashurst advised GE on this transaction.
