Polsinelli Shughart Expands Corporate and Litigation Strengths

Polsinelli Shughart welcomes corporate law attorney Quentin L. Jennings as a shareholder and litigation attorney Kirra N. Jones as an associate to the national law firm’s Kansas City office. Prior to joining Polsinelli Shughart, Jennings and Jones were partners in their own firm, Jones Jennings, P.C.

“The entrepreneur in me led to my leaving to start my own firm, but I have always considered Polsinelli Shughart home,” said Jennings who spent six years early in his law career at Polsinelli. “The firm is a natural fit for me and offers an outstanding opportunity to further develop my practice, support our clients and contribute to the firm’s existing diversity efforts within Polsinelli Shughart and the overall legal profession.”

Jennings brings extensive experience in analyzing and closing mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions. His will focus on coordinating complex mergers, divestiture, acquisition and real estate transactions representing small to mid-size businesses and Fortune 500 companies, high-technology firms, health care systems and providers, and start-up companies.

Jennings earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2001 and his B.A degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1998. He is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Jennings also serves as a commissioner on the Kansas City Board of Elections, an alumnus of Leadership Missouri and serves as a volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City.

Jones, who will practice toxic and mass tort litigation, has a background in both plaintiffs’ and defense litigation and has litigated on behalf of parties in both state and federal courts. She is an alumnus of the Missouri Bar Leadership Academy, and remains active with the Missouri Bar through her work supplementing the MoBar Deskbook series and moderating CLE seminars.

Jones earned her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 2007 and her B.A. degree in Spanish and Linguistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
