Polsinelli Shughart Expands Firm’s National Commercial Litigation Strength in D.C.

National law firm Polsinelli Shughart welcomes commercial litigation attorney Noam B. Fischman as a shareholder in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Highly recognized and experienced in his field, Fischman has represented corporate and individual clients in complex commercial disputes before federal and state courts, regulatory agencies and Congress.

“Noam is a skilled attorney with a history of successfully managing and minimizing the impact of complex legal disputes on his client’s business,” said Washington, D.C. Litigation Shareholder William D. Blakely. “His addition to the Washington litigation team is another important step in our firm’s expanding national commercial litigation practice.”

The firm’s Washington office includes nationally-recognized lawyers and litigators in addition to its renowned Public Policy practice. The arrival of Fischman occurs during a particularly exciting period of growth for Polsinelli Shughart, which was recently rated by Inc Magazine as the fastest-growing, full-service law firm in America.
In addition to his trial work, Fischman provides clients with practical advice and perspectives aimed at avoiding disputes before they arise. He has advised clients in a number of highly regulated industries, including health care and life sciences, telecommunications, technology, and higher education. Within these fields, he has managed employment disputes, government investigations, commercial tort and contract disputes, fiduciary issues, and matters involving trademark, trade secrets and unfair competition issues.

Fischman also has advised clients on issues related to the False Claims Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, has drafted compliance policies regarding these issues, and has conducted training programs to promote compliance with these and related laws.
“Polsinelli Shughart is a natural fit for me and offers an outstanding opportunity to further develop my practice, particularly with its sophisticated health care and life science capabilities coast to coast,” Fischman said. “I look forward to practicing with some of the nation’s most recognized lawyers, who have come together to practice in a firm that values its history while having a clear vision for its future.”

Fischman earned his law degree from George Washington University Law School in 1999 and his B.A. degree from Rutgers University in 1996. As an undergraduate, he was a member of the Rutgers College General Honors Program and was chosen to serve as an undergraduate associate with the Eagleton Institute of Politics. While in law school, he served as notes editor on the Environmental Lawyer, was a Dean’s Fellow, and was distinguished as Best Oralist in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Fischman is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland Bars.
