Ambassador (Ret.) Laurie Fulton Rejoins Williams & Connolly

Williams & Connolly LLP is pleased to announce the return of Ambassador (Ret.) Laurie S. Fulton as a partner practicing in the areas of privacy and data security, class actions, arbitration, internal investigations, congressional investigations, products liability and white-collar criminal defense.

Ms. Fulton rejoins the firm after serving as United States Ambassador to Denmark from July 2009 to February 2013. During her tenure, Ms. Fulton served as Honorary President to various business organizations including AmCham Denmark and the Danish-American Business Forum. In addition, she co-founded a bilateral, public-private initiative Green Partnerships for Growth developing a dedicated network for Danish and U.S. business opportunities in the sectors of green technology and sustainable growth.

Prior to joining Williams & Connolly, Ms. Fulton worked in various positions on Capitol Hill and as executive director of non-governmental organizations. Ms. Fulton is a member of various professional associations including the Council on Foreign Relations, the Council of American Ambassadors, and the USIP International Advisory Council.

Raised in South Dakota, Ms. Fulton earned a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a J.D. magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law School, where she was Managing Editor of the American Criminal Law Review and was awarded the Order of the Coif. She was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Public Service from South Dakota State University in May 2012.
