Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that it is adding energy finance Partner Jason Fox to its London office. He joins the firm from Herbert Smith Freehills and is the third partner named to Bracewell’s London office this year. Fox will assume the role of senior partner in the London office, and along with Julian Nichol and Alastair Young will serve as a cornerstone in the firm’s expansion of its global energy practice.
“I have known and worked with Jason for a number of years and I am certain our clients will benefit tremendously from his addition to the firm,” said Bracewell Managing Partner, Mark C. Roberts. “He has a stellar reputation in both the U.K. and internationally and I know his skill set will be a perfect fit for our clients and work,” added Roberts.
Fox focuses on financing for the oil and gas industry. He has advised on more than 100 upstream oil and gas transactions as well as other financings in the wider energy arena. Fox represents commercial banks, investment banks, other lenders, and independent oil and gas companies in a variety of complex financings, particularly reserve based lending transactions. He has experience throughout Europe, Africa and Asia.
“Jason is the market leader in oil & gas financings,” said Bracewell’s London Managing Partner Julian Nichol. “He has experience second to none and we are eager to be able to tap into this experience to serve our clients,” added Nichol.
“I have had a long working relationship with Bracewell and regard them as the leading U.S. energy-focused firm,” said Fox. “I am excited to have the unique opportunity of helping to lead this expansion of their practice from a London base,” added Fox.
Over the coming months Bracewell plans further growth for the London office at both the associate and partner level. Additional attorneys will focus on the energy sector, as well as other practices that support the firm’s energy client base.
