Shearman & Sterling Advises on US-Mexico Tomato Growers Trade Agreement

Shearman & Sterling is advising more than 600 Mexican tomato growers in a successful renegotiation of a bilateral trade agreement with the US Department of Commerce that ensures continued access to the US market for fresh Mexican-grown tomatoes. This new accord extends a previous agreement that has, since 1996, provided the strong and workable framework by which the Mexican growers exported their tomatoes to the U.S. market. The total value of trade is valued at almost $2 billion a year.

The Shearman & Sterling team was led by Robert LaRussa and Lisa Raisner and included Bryan Dayton, Paul Garvey and Tom Wilner, all out of Litigation in the firm’s Washington, DC office.
