Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. [NYSE:TDS], the parent company of TDS Telecommunications Corp., has announced an agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Baja Broadband for a purchase price of $267.5 million. Edwards Wildman advised Baja Broadband in the transaction. This acquisition will support TDS Telecom’s broadband and video growth strategy. Baja Broadband is a full-service telecommunications company that provides high-speed broadband and voice services to residential and commercial customers in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Utah. The deal team was led by Jeff Hardin, a partner in Edwards Wildman’s Business Law Department in Washington, DC, and Bob Baute and Devin Fargnoli, associates in the firm’s Providence office.
