New Partner Hire Strengthens Eversheds Energy and Corporate Capabilities

Global law firm Eversheds has hired renowned corporate energy partner Greg Hammond. Greg joins the firm’s London office from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP as a partner and Head of International Oil & Gas (Corporate).

Greg is vastly experienced in the global oil and gas sector and represents parties in major corporate finance transactions around the world, including M&A, private equity, capital markets and joint ventures. His clients include governments, public and private corporations, private equity houses, banks and multilateral agencies.

Examples of Greg’s recent transactions include representing a shale oil developer in its equity fundraising, advising the lead managers in the private placement of an exchangeable bond, representing an independent oil company in various disputes relating to its Balkan operations and advising on multiple matters in Africa, Asia and South America for a major international oil company.

Greg is a member of the Committee of The Oil Council, a member of the Europe and Africa Committee of AIPN and an original member of the Legal Advisory Task Force to the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels.
