Stephenson Harwood Appoints New Partner to the Paris Office

International law firm Stephenson Harwood has boosted its Paris office with the hire of new partner, Olivier de Chazeaux. Olivier joins Stephenson Harwood from Nixon Peabody where he headed the Public Law and Regulatory department. His arrival boosts Stephenson Harwood’s’ current corporate and regulatory offering in Paris and also increases the firm’s litigation and arbitration capability.

Olivier’s client base includes insurance, banking and medical device companies, as well as local and national governmental bodies.

Olivier’s legal experience is complemented by his background as an elected government official. He was elected Mayor of Levallois-Perret, a town on the outskirts of Paris, in 1995 and went on to become a Member of Parliament in 1997, where his key parliamentary responsibilities included matters relating to media, new technology and telecom. Olivier is also a member of the Legion of Honour, the highest decoration awarded in France.

Alain Gautron, Managing Partner of Stephenson Harwood’s Paris office, said “We are delighted to welcome Olivier to our team. His appointment correlates with our overall strategy of developing the Paris office by hiring skilled lawyers and increasing our areas of expertise, to include public law.”

Stephenson Harwood’s Paris office is well known as a market leader in the sectors of banking & asset finance and tax, offering unparalleled expertise in French tax lease structures.
