Sherman & Howard Expands to Atlanta

The law firm of Sherman & Howard, one of the oldest and most successful law firms in the Rocky Mountain region, today announced it is expanding to the Southeast with a new office in Atlanta. The office will be led by attorney John F. Wymer III, a nationally recognized expert in Labor & Employment law.

“We are pleased to welcome John to Sherman & Howard,” said R. Michael Sanchez, chief executive of Sherman & Howard. “Our members have had the opportunity to work closely with John on both shared client matters and pro-bono work, and I am confident that he will bring a tremendous amount of knowledge, expertise and value to our Labor & Employment clients nationwide.”

Mr. Wymer joins Sherman & Howard from Paul Hastings, where he was a partner in the Employment Law practice in the firm’s Atlanta office. Admitted to practice in Georgia and Alabama, Mr. Wymer is a Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, is a Georgia Super Lawyer and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America beginning in 1995.

Mr. Wymer has a national practice representing employers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies throughout the United States, and he has served as lead counsel in more than 75 reported labor and employment law cases. His areas of experience include class actions, employment discrimination cases, non-compete and trade secret litigation, sexual harassment claims, National Labor Relations Board cases, representation elections, arbitrations, wage/hour cases, benefits/ERISA litigation, and collective bargaining.

“I am honored to join Sherman & Howard. It is a great law firm whose lawyers, some of whom I have known for more than 25 years, perform some of the most sophisticated legal work in the country,” said Mr. Wymer. “I was intrigued by Sherman & Howard’s unique culture that promotes the flexibility and autonomy attorneys need to best manage their clients’ business and legal issues. I am excited by the opportunity to establish and help grow the Atlanta office by bringing the Sherman & Howard culture and client-friendly firm to the Southeast.”

Sherman & Howard has more than 25 Labor & Employment attorneys who represent management on all matters and disputes involving labor and employment law. Members of this group are licensed to practice in the federal courts and in 13 states, appear in other states on a pro hac vice basis, and often represent management before federal, state and local administrative agencies. Many of its attorneys are routinely listed in the labor and employment law sections of respected publications like Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Colorado Super Lawyers, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who Legal.
