Jones Day Expands German Banking & Finance Practice with Addition of Annica Lindegren, Ulf Kreppel, and Nick Wittek

Jones Day announced today that Annica Lindegren, Ulf Kreppel, and Nick Wittek will join the Firm’s Banking & Finance Practice. Ms. Lindegren and Mr. Wittek will be resident in Jones Day’s Frankfurt Office and Mr. Kreppel will be resident in Munich. The three new partners arrive from White & Case. The addition of these lawyers continues the rapid expansion of Jones Day’s German Banking & Finance Practice, which includes a team led by Claudia Leyendecker that joined the Düsseldorf Office late last year, and brings the number of German Banking & Finance partners in the Firm to six. These additions underscore the importance of Banking & Finance to Jones Day Germany and demonstrate the increasing scope of the Firm’s presence in the German market.

Ms. Lindegren was co-head of the Bank Finance practice at White & Case beginning in 2001. Her knowledge and experience in bank and project finance are widely recognized in the legal press and directories, most recently in JUVE2012/2013, Chambers Europe 2012, and ILFR2012. Mr. Kreppel, who has led the White & Case Structured Finance practice since 2003, is recognized as a leader in his field in the current edition of Chambers Europe. He, together with Mr. Wittek, whose practice focuses on structured finance and banking regulation and compliance, bring additional depth to Jones Day’s global Structured & Derivative Products practice.

“The arrival of this strong team of Banking & Finance lawyers demonstrates that we have become one of the most attractive firms for high-profile practitioners in Germany. Jones Day’s “One Firm Worldwide” culture, based on team effort, collegiality, and putting clients first, is more compelling today than ever before,” said Angsar Rempp, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day Germany. “We are delighted to welcome Annica, Ulf, and Nick to our team. They will make significant contributions to the growth of our German practice.”

“Jones Day offers a unique opportunity for us to build a strong full service bank finance practice in Germany to complement the Firm’s corporate and M&A platform,” said Ms. Lindegren. “The three of us look forward to applying the experience we’ve developed as a team during the past 10 years to serve the Firm’s clients in Germany and around the world.”

“The arrival of Annica Lindegren, Ulf Kreppel, and Nick Wittek marks a great jump forward for our Banking & Finance Practice in Germany and an important step in the continued growth of the Firm’s German and European presence,” said Düsseldorf Partner-in-Charge Sandra Kamper, a partner in the Banking & Finance Practice.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Annica, Ulf, and Nick to Jones Day,” said Robert Graves, co-leader of the Firm’s global Banking & Finance Practice. “Their addition to our strong German lineup gives us one of the leading banking and finance practices in Germany.”
