Macfarlanes Acts for 17Capital on Raising €208m Second Fund

Macfarlanes has advised investment firm 17Capital LLP on the raising of its second fund, which has closed with commitments of more than €208m. The fund will make preferred equity investments in European private equity situations.

The second fund is over twice the size of 17Capital’s initial fund and has trebled assets under management. The majority of investors from the initial fund have returned to support the team’s investment proposition, alongside new institutional investors.

The Macfarlanes team comprised of funds partner Bridget Barker alongside Christopher Good and Jacqueline Troy, with tax partner Mark Baldwin also advising.

Bridget Barker comments: “17Capital is a longstanding client of the firm and we are very pleased to be involved in the raising of its second fund in the toughest fundraising market for some time.”
