Michael J. Burke has joined the White Plains, New York office of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC as a Member in the firm’s Product Liability Group. He comes to Eckert Seamans from Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP.
Burke focuses his practice on litigation matters including products liability, insurance law, torts, civil rights, construction/labor law, automobile, premises liability, malpractice, municipal liability and environmental and toxic torts. His experience includes the successful defense of an environmental engineering company in World Trade Center litigation settled in the Southern District of New York, involving over 1,900 plaintiffs. Burke has tried cases at both the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining private practice, he represented the County of Westchester, New York in various types of litigation and governmental matters during his tenure as an Assistant County Attorney.
Burke earned his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Skidmore College.
Active in the community, Burke is also a Representative Town Meeting Member for Zone V of the Town of Darien, Connecticut.
