Winston & Strawn London Hires Leading Arbitrator Joe Tirado

Winston & Strawn LLP today announced Joe Tirado has joined the firm as co-chair of its international arbitration practice. Mr. Tirado joins the firm’s London office from Norton Rose where he was head of international arbitration and ADR.

Mr. Tirado has advised on complex and high-value international disputes across a wide range of industry sectors including oil and gas, mining and commodities, financial technology, petrochemicals and construction. His international arbitration experience has involved him working in many jurisdictions. He is particularly well-known for his work in India, the CIS and Latin America.

Mr. Tirado is ranked for international arbitration and ADR in leading legal directories where has been described as “first class,” and a “practical and legally sound lawyer who goes beyond lawyering to give good commercial advice,” as well as having “an excellent grasp of clients’ needs.” Clients have also described him as “a thoroughly solid performer” and as “fantastic to work with.” Mr. Tirado is a CEDR Accredited Mediator and a solicitor-advocate (Higher Courts Civil), has experience sitting as an arbitrator, mediator and expert determiner, and is fluent in Spanish and also conversant in Portuguese and French.
