Beirne, Maynard & Parsons Expands Gulf Coast Presence by Welcoming New Orleans-Based Lemle Kelleher

Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, L.L.P., a Houston-based civil litigation-focused law firm, joined with the Louisiana firm of Lemle & Kelleher, L.L.P. Beirne, Maynard & Parsons has greatly expanded their presence along the Gulf Coast, allowing them to better serve the needs of clients in that region.

This marks continued growth for the firm, allowing it to expand its capabilities in commercial transactions, securities, and white-collar defense while enhancing its strong litigation practice, specifically in the areas of energy, environmental, employment, commercial, bankruptcy, transportation, and maritime law.

“This is a very exciting time for our two firms and for our clients,” said Brit T. Brown, Managing Partner for Beirne, Maynard & Parsons. “We have combined skilled litigation and commercial transaction attorneys while strengthening our international reach and presence along the Gulf Coast.”

According to Brown, his firm has many client relationships along the Gulf Coast, which increasingly required a strong presence in the New Orleans area. The firm strategically chose to join with an existing firm with a solid history and reputation, as well as a shared commitment to clients’ successes, allowing it to quickly grow its foothold in the Gulf Coast area. The firm has enhanced its capability to serve large client matters, whether off-shore, at the nearby shale plays, or at the Port of New Orleans.

Based in New Orleans, and with an office in Baton Rouge, Lemle & Kelleher is one of the oldest major law firms in Louisiana, tracing its origins to the late 19th century. The firm is well known for its responsive, innovative, and experienced legal representation covering a broad range of practice areas.

“We are pleased to be joining with a leading firm, recognized for its expertise, depth of resources, and high standard client service,” said Benjamin R. Slater, III, managing partner of the New Orleans office. “It is an important strategic step for both firms, and our attorneys bring an added dimension to Beirne, Maynard & Parsons’ existing capabilities.”

Beirne, Maynard & Parsons now has offices in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge. Slater will assume the position of Managing Partner of the New Orleans office.

“We’re fortunate to continue growing into new markets, such as San Antonio and now New Orleans, with seasoned and talented attorneys able to offer experienced legal counsel to our clients,” said Martin D. Beirne, Chairman of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons. “We expect significant and purposeful growth for the firm in the near future.”

Beirne expects to continue to add attorneys throughout the next year. With the firm’s increasing regional presence and focused growth plans, Beirne, Maynard & Parsons has been contacted by firms in the region wishing to expand their capabilities. The firm continues to explore opportunities to expand not only in key Texas markets, but along the Gulf Coast region – where there is an increasing demand for experienced litigation and commercial transaction professionals. Additionally, the firm continues to strengthen its international presence in Mexico, and beyond.
