Jones Day Boosts German Practice with Addition of Leading Corporate Lawyer Wolfgang Hölters

Dr. Wolfgang Hölters, one of Germany’s most well known and respected corporate lawyers, will join the Düsseldorf Office of global law firm Jones Day on January 2, 2013. With the addition of the Dr. Hölters, Jones Day continues to expand its practice in Germany.

Wolfgang Hölters has received recognition from Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and PLC Which lawyer as one of the leading corporate lawyers in Germany. He established himself in the industry as co-founder and name partner of Hölters & Elsing, a well known German firm. Dr. Hölters is currently one of the last active name partners of a large law firm in Germany.

In recent years, Dr. Hölters has had a leading role in some of the most significant corporate transactions in Germany. He recently advised the Federal Republic of Germany in all aspects of the privatization of Deutsche Bahn AG, the German railroad. He is well known in professional circles through his extensive experience advising national and international clients in corporate law, particularly stock corporation law (with a focus on corporate governance and compliance), M&A, and privatization. He is the editor of the “M&A Handbook” (“Handbuch Unternehmenskauf”) as well as “Hölters”, a commentary on stock corporation law.

Dr. Markus Weber, also an accomplished and respected corporate lawyer, joins Dr. Hölters in moving to Jones Day’s Düsseldorf Office.
