Debevoise & Plimpton LLP today announced that Kevin Francis Lloyd will join the firm in 2013 as a litigation partner resident in the firm’s London office. Mr. Lloyd is a leading English solicitor, with broad-based complex commercial litigation experience across a full complement of industries and geographies, including financial services institutions and multinational corporations.
Mr. Lloyd is a senior partner in the commercial litigation group at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, where he represents clients on a variety of multi-billion pound, high-profile litigations, including significant disputes against former directors and auditors of failed companies, as well as cross-border conflicts involving financial services institutions.
Mr. Lloyd’s arrival at Debevoise’s London office augments the capacity of the firm’s formidable UK and European litigation practice led by Lord Goldsmith QC. Debevoise’s European litigation practice is now even better positioned to deliver unrivalled litigation services and maintain its leading position internationally.

Mr. Lloyd began his career at Herbert Smith, and then joined Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 1988, where he was named a partner in 1990. Mr. Lloyd rejoined Herbert Smith in 1999 as a partner and served on the firm’s Board from 2009 to 2012.
Mr. Lloyd currently serves as a Solicitor of The Senior Courts of England and Wales and Solicitor/Barrister of all courts in Australia. Mr. Lloyd holds an LL.B. from University College London, an LL.M. from Queens College Cambridge and taught in Company Law from Durham University.
