Banking & Finance Partner Samrad Nazer has joined the London office of Locke Lord as yet another key player in the Firm’s rapidly evolving UK transactional banking team. Nazer is the second Banking & Finance Partner to join the international Firm in less than a month, as well as the fourth Partner recently added to the ranks in London. He brings additional depth and breadth to significant transactional banking areas such as cross-border and domestic debt finance and syndicate financings.
Nazer joins from Squires Sanders, where he was a partner for the last four years. His practice includes acquisition and leveraged finance (senior and mezzanine), debt restructurings, real estate finance and structured finance. In addition, he has provided debt advice to several English Premier League and Championship Football Clubs during takeovers, refinancings and restructurings.
His broad-based practice is global in scope, and he has acted for European and U.S. private equity sponsors, lenders, borrowers, hedge funds, other financial institutions and corporations. Nazer has extensive experience advising in the energy, real estate, manufacturing and sports & leisure sectors, and he has advised clients throughout Europe, Russia, the United States and the Middle East.
“Samrad brings key skill sets to our transactional banking team in London, opening new pathways to serve clients and their increasingly global operations,” said Firm Chair Jerry Clements. “He is a dynamic and entrepreneurial lawyer whom we expect will help raise the profile and global footprint of our important transactional banking practice.”
Nazer’s arrival comes on the heels of Banking & Finance Partner Luke Morris joining the Firm earlier this month. In addition, M&A/Capital Markets Partner James Channo joined the London office Nov. 1 and Partner Ian McKenna joined in late October as part of the Insurance and Reinsurance team in London.
