Barnes & Thornburg Adds Intellectual Property Attorney Jordan Weinstein to Growing Washington, D.C. Office

Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Jordan S. Weinstein has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Department. Previously, Weinstein was a partner with Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P.

Weinstein focuses his practice on counseling, licensing and litigation in U.S. and international trademark, copyright, unfair competition, Internet and high-technology matters. His clients span numerous industries, including retail, food, restaurants, clothing, sports and recreation, electronics, software, jewelry, satellite systems, and advertising and marketing.

“We are delighted to add an attorney with Jordan’s background and experience, as well as his deep knowledge of trademark and copyright law, to Barnes & Thornburg’s Washington, D.C. office,” said Karen McGee, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Washington, D.C. office. “His arrival is indicative of our strategy to grow our presence in the D.C. market through the addition of high-quality laterals across a number of strategic practice areas, including Intellectual Property, Litigation, Governmental Services, and Environmental.”

“Barnes & Thornburg’s national footprint is a great match for Jordan’s practice,” said Thomas Donovan, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. “Our clients will also be well served by his technical experience and extensive background in domain name disputes.”

Weinstein is the latest lateral attorney to join Barnes & Thornburg as the firm continues its expansion across the country of its leading practice groups. His arrival follows David Ritter joining the firm’s Chicago office in November as a partner in the Labor & Employment Law Department. In addition, also in November, Lindsey D. G. Dates and Daniel J. Lawler joined the Chicago office as partners in the Litigation and Healthcare Departments, respectively. In October, the firm added Thomas J. McWilliams and Edward “Ted” F. Behm, Jr. to its Wilmington, Del. office as partners in the Intellectual Property Department.
