Stephen A. Tight Rejoins Fredrikson & Byron

Stephen A. Tight has rejoined Fredrikson & Byron as an officer in the firm’s CorporateMergers & AcquisitionsPrivate Equity and Venture Capital, and Life Sciences Groups. His experience includes representing public and private companies, private equity firms, and venture capital investors in a wide variety of merger and acquisition transactions and investment transactions, ranging in value from less than $50 million to billions of dollars, with a particular emphasis in the Life Sciences space. His transactional work includes domestic and cross-border acquisitions; tender and exchange offers; contests for corporate control; going-private transactions; asset acquisitions and divestitures; spin-offs; joint ventures; venture capital and strategic investments; securities offerings; private equity transactions; and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance.

Tight was previously a shareholder at Fredrikson and practiced with the firm for nearly a decade. From 2009 through late 2012, he was Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at St. Jude Medical’s Atrial Fibrillation Division headquartered in St. Paul, MN. When he left St. Jude Medical in late 2012 to rejoin Fredrikson, the AF Division represented nearly $1 Billion in annual revenue and was one of the fastest growing divisions at St. Jude. During his tenure, Tight was responsible for all aspects of the legal and compliance functions at St. Jude’s AF Division including, the Intellectual Property portfolio, litigation matters, FDA regulatory counseling and compliance, the legal aspects of the corporate development function and the AF Division’s global compliance activities.
