International law firm Stephenson Harwood has appointed Elizabeth (Libby) Elliott to its banking group within the finance practice. Elizabeth joins from the restructuring and insolvency group of SNR Denton where she was a partner. She joins Sue Moore who arrived at Stephenson Harwood last month and who was also previously a partner in the SNR Denton restructuring and insolvency group.
Libby has been involved in many high-profile domestic and cross border restructurings and insolvencies. She acts for office holders, debtors, banks, funds and other creditors in connection with all aspects of corporate financial distress.
Her notable cases include the restructuring of Wind Hellas, the equity restructuring of Healthcare Locums, various confidential restructurings involving telecoms and hotels, and the restructurings of the Global crossing group, the Collins & Aikman group and the Federal Mogul group. She has acted for receivers of structured investment vehicles and advised various financial institutions following the collapse of Lehman Brothers. She also regularly acts for administrators, including for example on the administrations of the Jarvis group and the luxury hotel chain the Von Essen Hotels group.
