White & Case Strengthens Its M&A Practice with a New Partner in Stockholm

Global law firm White & Case has bolstered its global Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice with the addition of Darragh Byrne as partner in the Firm’s Stockholm office.

“Continuing to grow our Global M&A practice is a strategic priority for the Firm,” said John Reiss, head of White & Case’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. “Darragh’s public and private M&A and equity and debt capital markets experience will not only grow our Nordic region practice, but will also support our cross-border M&A activity with his international experience and dual qualification.”

“In Sweden, White & Case is known for its ability to navigate large and complex cross-border M&A transactions,” said Ulf Johansson, Office Executive Partner for the Firm’s Stockholm office. “Darragh’s extensive local knowledge and international expertise will add further depth to our existing team and provide an excellent resource for our clients.”

Byrne is dual-qualified in English and Swedish law and joins White & Case from Linklaters. His experience includes working on a variety of M&A and capital markets transactions for clients both in the Nordic region and internationally. Also joining White & Case’s M&A practice in Stockholm from Linklaters is Christian Holmberg, a senior associate.

Over the last two years White & Case has taken a strategic approach to strengthening its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. In addition to six partner promotions within the M&A group, White & Case hired 13 partners across the Firm in 2011. Byrne is the tenth partner to join the practice area in 2012.
