Greenberg Traurig Welcomes Vicky Beasley McPherson as a Shareholder

Greenberg Traurig, LLP, an international law firm, welcomes Vicky Beasley McPherson as a shareholder to itsCorporate & Securities, Global and Africa practices. She will reside in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

McPherson has an extensive corporate practice in investment fund formation, project and corporate finance transactions and general corporate governance matters. She represents fund sponsors on fund formation, strategic acquisitions of portfolio companies through equity and debt financing and general corporate matters for portfolio companies to prepare for divestiture. Her experience includes assisting international institutional investors in negotiating private equity and real estate investments and co-investments exceeding hundreds of millions of dollars in commitments.

Vicky brings a broad range of experience representing domestic and multinational corporations, both private and public, and quasi-government entities,” said Sanford Saunders, co-managing shareholder of the Washington, D.C. office. ”Her practice is an excellent addition to the Washington office and the firm’s corporate capabilities.”

McPherson, who comes to Greenberg Traurig from Patton Boggs, also has significant experience advising on election law and voter protection strategic planning and implementation. Previously, she served as director of Legal Outreach & Planning for People of the American Way Foundation in the non-partisan Election Protection program during the 2004 Presidential Election cycle – an initiative that provided pro bono assistance to groups and individuals in the protection of their voting rights. In 2005, she received the National Bar Association’s Presidential Achievement Award and remains an active member of the voter protection community during each major election cycle.

McPherson rejoins Jude Kearney, who recently came to the firm as a Corporate & Securities shareholder and as head of its Africa practice. McPherson’s interest in an African practice dates back to her days at Columbia Law School where she served as the law school’s first exchange student with the University of Witswaterand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
