Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton Opening North Carolina Office

International law firm Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton announced today the opening of a Greensboro, N.C. office, expanding the leading insurance industry law firm’s footprint into the Southeast region. The office will be led by David L. Brown, a well-known insurance coverage expert, who joins Nelson Levine from Greensboro firm Pinto Coates Kyre & Brown PLLC, along with three of his colleagues. Other partners joining the firm include Martha P. Brown, John I. Malone, Jr. and Brady A. Yntema. The office will open effective November 1, 2012.

The opening of the Greensboro office is part of an aggressive growth strategy devised to further serve the growing, specialized needs of the insurance industry in the U.S. and internationally. Under this plan, Nelson Levine intends to recruit experienced insurance law attorneys at varying levels during the remainder of 2012and throughout 2013, as it further enhances the depth and quality of the service it offers the insurance industry.

Mr. Brown focuses on complex insurance coverage disputes and bad faith claims throughout North Carolina and the southeastern U.S., particularly emerging coverage issues related to DNA identification as well as matters involving allocation, property coverage, and directors and officers liability. He also represents insurers in reinsurance disputes. Mr. Brown has extensive experience in the defense of liability matters with a special emphasis on construction defect. Mr. Brown frequently writes and serves as a speaker for legal and industry groups concerning insurance matters. He is a certified mediator and maintains an active mediation practice, particularly in insurance coverage and construction defect related claims.

Ms. Brown represents insurers in appellate and employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) issues. Mr. Malone represents leading insurance carriers in disputes arising from construction claims and product liability. Mr. Yntema concentrates his practice on complex insurance coverage and liability issues arising out of intellectual property claims, construction defect and environmental matters.
