Michael E. Barnsback has joined the law firm of LeClairRyan as a partner on the Labor and Employment and Business Litigation Practice Area Teams. He will be resident in the national law firm’s Alexandria office.
Barnsback, formerly of DiMuroGinsberg, focuses his practice on advising and representing Virginia employers in all aspects of employment law. He is frequently called upon to assist employers with issues such as disability accommodation and leave under the ADA and FMLA, Department of Labor wage and hour audits, and FLSA individual and collective action overtime cases. Additionally, his practice includes protecting employers from unfair competition and theft of trade secrets and confidential information, and breaches of fiduciary duties by employees, officers and directors. Barnsback has over twenty years of courtroom experience litigating employment-related cases and also has significant experience representing employers before the EEOC, state and local administrative agencies.
He is an editor of the Virginia Employment Law Letter, a monthly newsletter published by M. Lee Smith Publishers, LLC, and frequently lectures on employment law and human resources issues. Barnsback is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law (J.D.), George Mason University (M.A.) and the College of William & Mary (B.A). He is admitted to practice in Virginia state and federal courts.
