International law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP has appointed Anthony Menzies as a Partner in its market-leading Global Insurance team in London. Anthony is recognised as a leading specialist in marine, energy and engineering and will head up the firm’s marine and offshore energy practice, based in its Mincing Lane offices.
Anthony joins the firm at the beginning of September from Taylor Wessing, where he was a Partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance group. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Clyde & Co and has spent two years working for offshore firm Appleby in the Cayman Islands.
Anthony has acted in some of the highest profile disputes in the international insurance industry in recent years, representing, in particular, insurers and reinsurers in the London and Swiss markets as well as those in Bermuda and the US.
Anthony is also a recommended practitioner in the legal directories, noted for work of a “particularly high standard” (Legal 500) and described by clients as “loyal, controlled and considered” with a “superb commercial acumen” (Chambers Directory, 2012 edition).
