Katten Muchin Rosenman UK LLP today announced that leading tax attorney Sanjay Mehta has joined the firm as a partner. Sanjay comes from the respected City of London law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP. He is the fifth new attorney to join Katten UK in the past six months and marks another key step in Katten’s strategy to build its real estate, corporate and financial services capabilities in London.
Sanjay’s practice focuses on both transactional and contentious tax matters. He has wide experience advising on transactions involving banking, capital markets, structured and asset finance, M&A/private equity, restructurings and investment funds. Sanjay also regularly counsels clients on tax disputes with HM Revenue & Customs and tax-based contractual and indemnity claims on a UK and a cross-border basis.
Despite his relative youth, Sanjay has already been recognized as a leading individual in his field by Chambers UK and the Legal 500 UK. He also has wider industry recognition and a platform through key elected positions with several UK and international industry committees. Sanjay is an excellent addition to Katten in the race for talent against a number of larger law firm competitors.
