King & Wood Mallesons Project Finance team has finalised a milestone transaction, with the A$1.06 billion refinancing of the Loy Yang B Power Station reaching financial close.
The firm acted for International Power, GDF Suez and Mitsui & Co., Ltd (project sponsors) on the $1.06 billion Loy Yang B refinancing. The team was led by partner Peter Doyle, with Senior Associate Claire Rogers and Solicitor, Nicola O’Farrell.
“We are pleased to have supported our client in reaching this successful outcome. As the first major power station refinancing since the introduction of the carbon price, we expect this transaction to set the market precedent going forward,” said Rogers.
