Shearman & Sterling Advised Danone on Inaugural Bond Issue in US Dollars

On May 30 2012, Danone announced the successful offering of a $850 million 10-year bond with a coupon of 3%, launched on May 29, 2012.

This bond issue was carried out by way of a private placement to institutional investors only (including to qualified institutional buyers in the United States).

Danone stated that “the funds raised from this issue will enable it to diversify geographically its sources of financing and extend the maturity of its debt at favorable market conditions.”

The settlement of the bonds took place on June 6, 2012.

Shearman & Sterling advised Danone with a team composed of Paris capital markets partners Bertrand Sénéchal and Robert Treuhold, assisted by associates Séverine de La Courtie, Alison Howell and Arthur Ravignon.
