Dechert Opens Chicago Office With Three Litigators

Dechert LLP announced today that it has opened an office in Chicago with the arrival of three securities litigation partners there. Moving to Dechert are David H. Kistenbroker, Joni S. Jacobsen and Carl. E. Volz, all previously with Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

Kistenbroker, who was managing partner of Katten’s Chicago office and chairman of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, focuses his practice on representing public companies, as well as their directors and officers, in securities class actions, SEC investigations and corporate governance matters.

David, Joni and Carl are exceptionally talented lawyers,” Dechert Chairman Andrew J. Levander said. “We are extremely pleased to have them join our new office. We look forward to building our presence in Chicago in many practice areas and this group is a great foundation as we go forward with that strategy of growth.”

“We are all quite excited to join Dechert, a firm with a high-level and respected litigation group,” said Kistenbroker. “I am quite sure our clients will benefit from the comprehensive, global platform the firm offers.”

Jacobsen and Volz center their practice on the defense of publicly traded companies and their directors and officers in securities actions, directors’ and officers’ liability actions, SEC investigations, corporate governance disputes and other complex commercial litigation. They have substantial experience counseling and conducting internal investigations for public and private companies, boards of directors and special committees. They also have represented clients in a wide range of matters arising from allegations of options backdating, accounting irregularities, insider trading, inadequate or misleading public disclosures and breaches of fiduciary duties.
