Former Federal Agent Brian J. Halpin Joins LeClairRyan

Brian J. Halpin has joined the law firm of LeClairRyan as a partner in the Discovery Solutions Practice. He will be resident in the national law firm’s Newark office.

Halpin has significant experience in computer forensics and e-discovery involving law enforcement, legal, and investigative services. Formerly a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he was assigned to investigate national security matters, including espionage and domestic/international terrorism. Halpin also served as the Acting Director of the New Jersey Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, managing computer forensic law enforcement personnel from the FBI, NJ State Police, NJ Division of Criminal Justice, and four local agencies.

He is certified by the FBI, IACIS (CFCE), and Guidance Software (EnCE) in computer forensics investigations, and has personally conducted more than 350 forensic examinations involving cases of terrorism, espionage, computer crimes, public corruption, and white-collar crime. Halpin is an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University in Computing and Security Technology.

He is a graduate of Temple University School of Law (J.D) and Seton Hall University (B.S.) and is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
