The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Larry P. Cote has joined the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Health Law Group.

Prior to joining Quarles & Brady, Cote served as the Associate Chief Counsel for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (“DEA”) Diversion and Regulatory Litigation Section. He advised the DEA on issues related to the diversion of legally produced controlled substances and listed chemicals into illegitimate channels, managed attorneys responsible for representing the DEA in administrative hearings regarding the revocation or denial of DEA registrations in various capacities, advised federal and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies and prosecutors on a wide range of investigative and prosecutorial topics arising under the Controlled Substances Act, reviewed legislative and regulatory amendments, and provided legal advice on policy issues which impacted on the DEA’s enforcement authority under the Controlled Substances Act. Cote also serves as a Major in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, United States Army Reserve.
He received his law degree from the Albany Law School of Union University and his undergraduate degree from Union College.
