Clyde & Co is pleased to announce that Devika Khanna has joined the firm as a partner in its international arbitration team.
Devika joins Clyde & Co from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where she specialised in international arbitration, particularly within the energy and construction sectors.
She has represented clients in commercial and investment disputes under a variety of rules. Devika has extensive experience in advising on gas price review arbitrations and production sharing agreement disputes, particularly in emerging and developing markets. She has also advised clients on the impact of US and EU sanctions.
Her recent work includes: Acting for a European energy company in a series of pricing disputes under long term gas supply agreements;
Representing the Karachaganak consortium (BG, Eni, Chevron and LUKoil) in its recent settlement with the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Representing an international energy consortium in proceedings against its main works contractor relating to oil condensate processing facilities in Kazakhstan;
Acting for an international energy consortium in respect of tax and cost recovery disputes (involving claims under various BITs and the Energy Charter Treaty) with a central Asian state;
Advising an oil major in respect of budget and tax disputes with the Russian Federation;
Assisting a petrochemical company withdraw its business from various sanctioned territories.
