Polsinelli Shughart Adds Experienced Antitrust Litigator in Washington, D.C.

Polsinelli Shughart welcomes veteran antitrust lawyer Mitchell D. Raup as shareholder in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and vice-chair of the firm’s antitrust practice. Highly experienced in his field, Raup has represented clients before the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission, and in federal and state courts nationwide. He concentrates his practice on complex matters involving antitrust and consumer protection law, class actions and government investigations, and antitrust issues in the health care industry.

“Polsinelli Shughart’s growing and sophisticated health care capabilities coast to coast were attractive to my clients,” said Raup. “I’m really excited to be here and look forward to practicing with some of the nation’s most recognized health care lawyers.”

Raup’s clients include hospitals, provider groups, insurers, and pharmaceutical companies. He has defended multi-billion-dollar mergers and litigated antitrust cases involving alleged monopoly, monopsony, price-fixing, market allocation, exclusionary practices and boycotts. The firm’s antitrust practice is nationwide and includes business lawyers and litigators from a variety of practice areas.

Raup earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law, and his B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago. Raup has nearly 30 years experience in the courtroom, and is admitted to the bars of Illinois, the District of Columbia, the United States Supreme Court, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Circuits.

Polsinelli Shughart is considered one of the fastest growing law firms in the country, and the firm’s health care practice is the sixth largest in the nation. The firm’s Washington, D.C. office includes seasoned health care lawyers and litigators, in addition to a strong public policy practice.
