Locke Lord announces that the Atlanta office has added a new Partner and two new Associates to the Firm’s Business Litigation and Consumer Finance Litigation teams, bringing additional depth to the Litigation Department and adding to the Firm’s strength in resolving complex business matters, including class actions and multi-district litigation. The hiring of Partner John Williamson and Associates Alexandra Dishun and Adam Starr follows the recent additions of two new lawyers in the national Corporate and Transactional Department, significantly boosting the Atlanta office’s capabilities, client base and synergies among Locke Lord’s 13 global offices.
Joining the Firm this week is Partner John Williamson, who has over 20 years of experience in complex business litigation, including the defense of class actions and multi-district litigation. He has a wide range of substantive experience, including consumer finance, securities, products liability, intellectual property, business torts and contract disputes. Williamson also is experienced in responding to regulators and conducting internal corporate investigations. Williamson previously led the mortgage litigation practice at Morris, Manning & Martin in Atlanta.
Accompanying Williamson to Locke Lord are new Associates and colleagues Adam Starr and Alexandra “Alex” Dishun, both of whom will work closely with Williamson in the Litigation Department. Starr graduated from Syracuse University College of Law and earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech, and Dishun earned her law and undergraduate degrees from Emory University.
Williamson’s significant experience in consumer finance boosts the Firm’s platform in that arena, and he also provides in-depth knowledge of mortgage regulatory and compliance issues. He graduated from The University of Virginia School of Law and is a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University. He serves on the Board of Directors with Talk About Your Future, an Atlanta nonprofit group focused on the city’s at-risk students.
The hiring of Williamson, Starr and Dishun follows last month’s additions of Partner Joel Cartee and Associate Alisha Fikes Gibson to the Atlanta office, where they have joined the Firm’s national Corporate and Transactional Department and add significant capabilities in the energy, technology and telecommunications areas.
“We welcome John, Adam and Alex and believe they boost our litigation strength and are a great fit in our Atlanta office,” said Neil Dickson, Atlanta Office Managing Partner. “With the addition of five new lawyers in just a few weeks, we believe the Atlanta office has boosted the overall strength of Locke Lord and has opened significant new opportunities to better serve our clients nationwide and internationally.”
